The Religious Ceremony While Waiting For the Result of the Moon Sighting for Zulhijjah 1447 Hijrah was held on 17th May late afternoon. The Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB, convened after the sighting of the new moon of Zulhijjah.

Present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as the Yang Di-Pertua of MUIB, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development. Also held was Al-Qur'an reading and a short talk, followed by the mass fardhu Maghrib prayer.​
